EAT. SLEEP. VAULT.
Xtreme Athletics is located in Shawnee, Kansas, and is dedicated to serving pole vaulters year round with excellent instruction, world class equipment, and strength training programs. Founded by former Olympian Doug Lytle, Xtreme Athletics recognized a need for area athletes to benefit from an indoor facility with regularly scheduled classes to give vaulters a consistent and year round coaching experience. The facility is equipped with pole sizes covering every weight and length, and special training equipment designed specifically for vaulters to help with drills in the fundamentals of pole vaulting. We are also proud to feature Rick Attig as our head coach, one of the most accomplished and recognized vaulting coaches in the country. Xtreme Athletics is proud to offer athletes every thing they need to train hard in one place.
These small group training sessions are open to any pole vaulter regardless of age or skill. Each session focuses on fundamental skills, jump evaluations, and proper training techniques. An extensive selection of poles are available for use to every vaulter.MORE INFO

Rick Attig is one of the best pole vault coaches in the world. Under his coaching, I clocked some of the fastest runway velocities ever recorded in the world. Not only does he understand the mechanics of the vault, he also is a master of teaching sprint technique, which is essential in more events than just the vault. He’s the reason I trained at Kansas for a decade after college.
Throughout high school I attended eight of Coach Attig’s pole vault camps and am amazed at how much I learned and how much fun I had at these camps! The pole vaulting drills, training tips and lectures were fantastic and helped me attain a solid, long-term foundation with which to build my pole vaulting career upon. The environment was fun and laid-back and I was able to gain many friendships through these camps. After high school I wanted to pole vault for Coach Attig at the collegiate level, and I continued to benefit from his knowledge and leadership throughout my college career. I have the utmost respect and admiration for Coach Attig as a person and coach and owe much of my high school and collegiate success to him!
